Space-saving design for modern living is a value that Honeycomb Builders, Inc. (HBI) has introduced through its Space-Smart innovation – the Urban Loft.
HBI’s patented condominium unit design makes use of the popular loft concept, expanded further with integrated space-saving and practical features like built-in cabinets, foldable kitchen nook, multi-purpose table, aircon duct system and a water-recycling sink in the bathroom.
With the patented loft concept, “we want our clientele to feel that they have leveled up another notch,” said Amy Sy-Soon, HBI’s director for sales and marketing.
Long associated with sophisticated city living such as those in New York, lofts indeed offer added spaciousness and airiness with its bi-level design. At an average unit size of 20 sqm, HBI’s one- to two-bedroom loft units boast of 3.4 meters floor-to-ceiling height.
Compared to a typical studio unit, HBI’s space-smart loft delineates proper living room space where homeowners can entertain guests, while keeping the privacy of their bedroom on the mezzanine level. The half-stairs design of the unit utilizes the bare space above the bathroom and kitchenette.
“Since areas are well defined in the layout, homeowners can be more creative in designing the interiors. Also, the high ceiling allows the use of modern drop lights that provide better lighting and add more character to the unit,” added Sy-Soon.
HBI’s unique loft design has been sought after by homebuyers leading to a series of sold-out projects namely, Rockfort Boutique Residences along Kalayaan Avenue in Makati City, RSG Sta. Mesa ResiDens in Ramon Magsaysay Blvd., RSG Aguila ResiDens in Concepcion Aguila St., Manila and RSG St. Scho ResiDens in Arellano Ave.
HBI now has more projects in the pipeline showcasing this innovation — another mid-rise condominium along Ramon Magsaysay Ave. in Sta. Mesa, Manila, and a twin-tower residential condominium along Congressional Avenue in Quezon City.
“In the city, space is a luxury,” explained Sy-Soon.
“Our boutique condos combine affordability, comfort and innovation in an address that’s close to everything. We specifically developed our urban loft design to attend to the sophisticated needs of a price-sensitive middle-income market, and to provide investors a secure and income-generating asset worthy of their hard-earned money.”
All these features and benefits come at a price that is value for money.
“Through our design and construction methods, we are able to offer fully-furnish one- to two-bedroom units at the price of a studio unit, which starts at R1.5 million,” she noted.
The fully-furnished package includes a sofa, tables and chairs, mattresses, refrigerator, TV, induction cooker, range hood, and air conditioning unit, among others. The full glass sliding windows on the balcony also allow abundant natural light that brightens the living area.
HBI finds that most of its buyers are classified into three groups—professionals and starting families who are aspiring to have a home they can call their own; parents with children studying in universities and in need of affordable but student-centric housing; and investors such as business people, overseas Filipino workers and seafarers who are looking for a property providing passive income through rental returns.
The common factor with all of them is that they are seeking a lifestyle upgrade.
“For the end-user, it’s being free from the landlord and having their own space. For parents, it’s ensuring that their children are in an environment that allows them to realize their potential. For investors, it’s looking forward to an early retirement by setting up passive income streams,” explained Sy-Soon.
With its vision focused on providing affordable housing to the middle-income market, HBI uses its expertise and technical skills in adapting and integrating various housing technologies into an efficient and cost-effective system.
“Our buyers want to level-up in life, and it is a fitting inspiration considering our loft design is literally one level up,” she concluded.
