HONORED IN INDIA – Dr. William D. Dar, former agriculture secretary, was honored by the International Crops Research Institute for Semi-Arid Tropics (ICRISAT) by naming a new building after him. Known as the William D. Dar Agribusiness Centre, the facility houses ICRISAT’s agribusiness and innovation platform. Dr. Dar (3rd from left) poses in front of the marker of the building named after him. Joining him from left are ICRISAT governing board chairman Dr Chandra Madramootoo, Mrs. Beatriz Dar, and David Bergvinson, director general. Dr. Dar was ICRISAT director general from 2000 to 2014.
