The company began with a single product line, a small team of 20 employees, and a whole lot of hard work and determination. Focus Global Inc. started 25 years ago as a distributor of Coleman products, in a rented warehouse/ office space located in Mandaluyong City.
Today, it has grown to be a major player in the premium home furnishings industry, with its own five-storey showroom at the Twenty-Four Seven McKinley building in Bonifacio Global City. The showroom measures about 5,000 sqm and is the biggest of its kind in the country and possibly in Asia.
“From Coleman, we started getting other household brands such as Kitchen Aid and Oster. From there, we started growing. In 1996, we acquired the distributorship of American furniture brand Ethan Allen. That prompted us to set up our Home Furnishings Division,” said Stephen Sy, Focus Global Inc. President.
Sy believed in the brands he distributes and personally uses them. “I wanted Ethan Allen for my own home, which is why I brought them here.”
From a single brand company, Focus Global now has 18 under their portfolio, 13 of which are in their home furnishings division. All of their brands are known internationally for their quality and long heritage of product excellence.
Their home furnishings division consists of top-of-the line U.S. brands such as Ethan Allen furniture, Sub-Zero refrigerators, Wolf ovens and kitchen appliances, Pella Doors and Windows, and Sealy mattresses.
Their European brands, meanwhile, include Miele premium home appliances, Siematic kitchen cabinets from Germany, Dornbracht designer bathroom and kitchen fittings, Villeroy & Boch bathroom fixtures, Boffi kitchen and wardrobe systems, B & B Italia designer furniture, Hunter Douglas window fashion, and Tempur mattresses and pillows.
Sy added that the company’s growth can be attributed to several factors. “Choosing the right products is the first. We then make sure to market them properly,” he explained.
Customer service is also equally important, and for that, they hire the right people and keep them happy at their jobs. Their sales team is composed of designers and architects who offer clients expert advice.
Putting customers first is a commitment Focus Global has remained dedicated to through the years and this can be seen in the excellent customer service and hassle-free experience they offer their clients.
Their showroom in Bonifacio Global City, for instance, houses virtually everything customers may need to furnish their dream home; thus saving them the time and effort it takes to search for different brands and products from multiple stores.
Clients can also find beautiful inspirations for their homes from the company’s different user-friendly and interactive websites.
After-sales service is another vital aspect of the company’s operations.
“Our relationship with the client does not end when we close the sale. We make sure that we have a continuing relationship with them. That’s how we build long-term rapport and brand loyalty with our clients.”
