With a name derived from the original scrambler motorcycles that kicked off the off-road and enduro segments in the United States during the 60s and 70s, Ducati motorcycles, distributed by T.A. Marketing, provided a teaser of the upcoming Scrambler Desert Sled.

Ducati says the Desert Sled is an evolution of the Scrambler Urban Enduro model, as such, it inherits its logo and some of its modifications are taken even further.

The new addition to the Scrambler line of motorcycles has been designed with the desert and mountains of California in mind. It takes its name from the standard motorcycles over 500cc that were modified by riders for use in the Californian Desert with knobby tires, reinforced suspensions, spoked wheels and engine protection plates.

Quite appropriately, the Scrambler Desert Sled also sports some modifications, with a new riding position characterised by a higher seat, a reinforced frame and fully adjustable suspension. There’s also a type-approved grid on the front headlight. Traction is also of prime priority with new Pirelli Scorpion Rally STR tires shod on its 19″ front and 17″ rear wheels. The rear suspension features a Kayaba rear shock that is pre-load and rebound adjustable. Powering the motorcycles is the same 803cc L-Twin in other Scramblers with Desmodronic distribution.

Ducati sent celebrity riders Richard Gomez and Martin Rosario to Spain to experience the bike first hand. The duo were present at the launch as well.

Naturally, Ducati will also offer accessories for the motorcycle, ranging from tank and tail bags to body and trim pieces. Ducati Philippines will launch the Desert Sled in July of this year.
