We do not say it often, even though we should. From tots who love to kiss and cuddle with our first playmate, friend, and our biggest fan as we cross out our baby milestones, we become awkward adults who can’t express our feelings toward our mothers. If there’s someone who deserves that “I Love You” the most, it’s mom, the one who continuously and tirelessly lifts us up to allow us to soar to greater heights even as we fly the nest to forge our own paths in life.
As a Mother’s Day treat to some moms, we asked their children to write us a letter in secret. Reading through them, we got messages that undoubtedly warm the heart. These children are lucky to have mothers they pay tribute to in these letters. But these mothers are also equally lucky to have kids as warm and as expressive as our respondents.

Happy Mother’s Day! I hope that this special day brings you happiness. Me and Tammy LOVE YOU so much. Did you know that I love your letter that you wrote in Letters to my Children? I read it three times and teared up every time I read it.The first time I read it was when you showed the book to me at night. The second time was when I was in Lala’s house. I read her copy. The third one was at the house while I was in bed.
I also just want to say thank you for all the things you did for me and my sister Tammy, like when you always help me with my blanket every night, when you wake me up every morning for school so I won’t be late like my other classmates (at least one classmate is late every day but some days no one is late but that is not very often).
I also want to say thank you for buying me all the things I need and almost all the things I want. Also for being the one who picks me up at school because you know I don’t want to ride in the school bus with my schoolmates that I do not know and also the men wearing yellow or the people who are in charge of the people who ride the school bus. Another reason is because it will take me longer to get home because they still have to drop off the other people who are riding in the school bus so it will take longer than usual.
I also want to thank you for when you are with me at troubled times or when I am scared, and lastly I want to thank you for loving me and Tammy so much till the end. Here is something for you mama:

To the best (and most beautiful) mother in the world, I wish you a Happy Mother’s Day on behalf of the five of us. Thank you for always being there in times of need, and always supporting us in whatever we do.
Mama, thank you for supporting me not only in school, but in life; being a role model to the five of us, and correcting me when I am wrong. Thank you for being strict in order that we won’t disobey. I look up to you for never surrendering even when we are being naughty. But most of all, I thank you for being there, especially since we take you for granted sometimes.
As one of the role models in life, I look to you for inspiration and strength in whatever I do. Thank you for teaching me values that aided me in life. I hope that one day, I may also give back and help you when you are much older. I will continue to excel in my studies and continue to respect you as my mother. May you always be here for all of us, and may we also be there for you.
Again, I wish you a happy Mother’s Day. No amount of words could ever sum up who you are and what you’ve done for the family. Thank you for always being there for me when I need help, as well as being there for my brothers and sister, as well as Papa. More power and God bless you always.

Thank you for caring for me and Joaquin!
First of all thank you for caring for us since the time we were born. Thank you for your patience to make us be the best we can be. Thank you for being a good teacher to us!
Second thank you for always doing your best to make us happy! Even if it is hard to make us have what we want. You never fail to do it so we thank you so, so, so much for your time and hard work!
Sorry if we are not that good and always making trouble. Thank you for always being patient and for always forgiving us!
You are the best mom in the whole world! We love you Mommy!

Seven years ago, I used to write you tons of letters. I still have a clear memory that I spent hours coloring and drawing hearts on them. Years have passed and I really wonder why I stopped writing you letters. Now, I’m writing to you again…. publicly.
It is impossible to put into words everything that I treasure about you. First of all, I want to thank you for not giving up on me or on our family. Thank you for always making me happy. Thank you for the limitless hugs and kisses and for the support I receive from you every single day. And, thank you Mom for the endless stories, songs, and games when I was young. The words “I love you” are not enough to express how much lucky I am to be your daughter.
So to end this letter: Thank you mom for being my everything, my superhero, and my bestfriend. I will protect you as you protect me and at the end of the day I will always be your mini-me. Happy Mothers Day, My Super Mom!!

There are five of us, and you are always there to make sure that we all feel special and important in your eyes.We appreciate all the time you give us, from homeschooling to taking us out on dates, to organizing our family meetings where we talk about anything and everything that is happening in our lives. Thank you for listening. Thank you for molding this family into one loving unit.
Nico: Thank you for always helping us out even when we can be a bit stressful at times. I just want to say thank you for taking good care of us and for giving us love. Thank you for making us feel that we are all individuals and reminding us that we all have our own strengths, that we are all different. Mom, I wish you all the happiness in the world because you deserve it.
Michael: Thank you for always putting us before you, for taking care of us and for keeping us happy and healthy, and for always loving us with all your heart. We appreciate you and we are thankful for all that you do for us. Mom, I am sorry for being annoying at times. I promise to get stricter with my studies, to try to watch what I eat, and to try to be healthier.
Moses: Dear mom, I love you and thank you for working hard for us so we can have food. Thank you for taking good care of us and for giving us everything. I like to play tennis and watch movies with you. Mom, I promise not to do bad things when nobody is around me and to not be afraid of the dark. Also, I promise to not hurt Nicky.
Nicole: I love playing dress up with you and the photo shoots. Thank you for bringing me almost everywhere and letting me be there when I found out that I will be an ate to Noah. Thank you for taking good care of me when I am sick.
We love you!
