Tata Motors launches range of commercial vehicles

Having successfully entered the Philippine automotive market in 2014 with affordable small cars and light commercial vehicles, Tata Motors, India’s largest commercial vehicle manufacturer, strengthens its position in the market as it launches a full range of commercial vehicle brands in the country. Through local partners Pilipinas Taj Autogroup, Inc., Tata Motors introduces its full range of commercial vehicle brands – the Tata Prima Range of tractor trailers and tippers, the LPT range of light, medium and heavy trucks, SFC 407, and the Mini Trucks range of Ace and Super Ace.

Tata Motors commercial vehicles are used across several South-East Asian markets including Malaysia, Vietnam, Indonesia, and Thailand, with manufacturing facilities in Vietnam, Thailand and Malaysia. Rudrarup Maitra, Tata Motors’ Head of International Business on Commercial Vehicles, commented on including the Philippines among its customer base.

    Tata besides the Prima tractor head rolled onto the stage, the marquee also presented the complete lineup in various configurations, from the SuperAceMicroBus, to SuperAce food trucks and dropside flatbeds. Its buses, the LP and LPO series were also present. Tata even presented its own solution for PUV modernization, the SFC light duty truck in Jeepney configuration.

    Besides launching their complete line-up of commercial vehicles, Tata also took the opportunity to thank its dealer partners both new and old for taking on the challenge and having confidence in Tata.

    The program was concluded with Tata VP, Arthur Balmadrid, raising a toast to the new Tata commercial vehicle lineup.

    The event was graced by the presence of His Excellency, Jaideep Mazundar, the Indian Ambassador to the Philippines, Tata Philippines Chairman, David Coyukiat, and George Blaylock, managing director of Tata Philippines.
