Last Wednesday, October 3 2018, Vespa Philippines officially unveiled the latest Primavera and Sprint at their BGC showroom.
The new Primavera and the new Sprint maintain their classic look but both now have 12-inch aluminum alloy wheels, the largest offered on a Vespa, giving better stability, safety and road holding.
The Primavera has a round headlight and the Sprint has a rectangular one, though both are now use LED bulbs, including the brake and turn signal lamps at the back. Other visual changes include a new “tie” up the front that makes it more distinctive. The Primavera has a chrome crest which adds a nice accent on the front mudguard.
Both the New Primavera and Sprint are powered by the latest generation fuel-injected four-stroke, 150cc engine that puts out a maximum of 13-hp at 7,750 rpm and 12.8-Nm of torque at 6,500 rpm.
Keeping the bumps at bay are monoshocks up front and the rear. Another improvement is the four position preload settings.
Stopping power is provided by 200 mm disc up front and 140 mm drum in the rear, with single channel ABS.
It wouldn’t be a Vespa without lots of personalization options. Vespa offers a top box, which you can also get with a backrest, a windscreen, top fairing, chrome plated front and rear luggage racks, front side and rear chrome mudguards, internal top box bag, a side stand, and vehicle cover. There’s also an electronic anti-theft device and the mechanical saddle-handlebar anti-theft device.
Upping the luxe factor are genuine leather saddles made in Italy and “Elegance” graphics for the new Primavera. Other optional extras include and two-tone aluminum alloy wheels, black or grey matte fairing covers, a single-seat option and sport graphics for the new Sprint.
The new Vespa Primavera is priced at P185,000 while the new Sprint is priced at P205,000.
