Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP), takes the wraps off the new Avanza. Unveiled during a short ceremony in Puerto Princesa, Palawan, the new Avanza combines the best value in a multi purpose vehicle (MPV) with modern style. The Avanza was first introduced in the Philippines in 2006 and has now sold almost 100,000 units since.

Among the improvements include its new split-type headlamps, a redesigned dashboard with a new infotainment system, and improved safety features.

Toyota has radically overhauled the Avanza’s exterior. Among the most evident change are the new split-type LED headlamps, along with a new grille to complement it. Foglamps are recessed into new front ducts to give it a sportier look. Complementing this new look are redesigned alloy wheels. Behind, the rear integrates a similar split-type look with its taillamps along with a new fin-type antenna.

Inside, the car is endowed with top-of-the-line entertainment and comfort for family trips. In the dashboard is a new 6.8-inch Capacitive Touch Panel Display infotainment system, similar to premium Toyota models like the RAV4 and Camry. This multimedia console is enhanced with high-resolution K2 Technology audio that enables 2-Phones Hands-Free and 5-Phones Music Streaming. Smartphone mirroring is also enabled using the T-Link app. Just below it is a new digital display air conditioning system.

The Avanza easily seats seven in its cabin and provides additional accessory connectors for the front and back rows. It also offers a spacious cargo room behind.

Moving it forward is a tried and tested powertrain: a choice of a 103 hp 1.5-liter engine (Veloz, G variant) or a 95 hp 1.3-liter engine (E, J variant). Drivers can choose between a four-speed automatic transmission or a five-speed manual transmission.

Finally, safety is a priority with the inclusion of two SRS airbags for driver and passenger, three-point ELR seatbelts for all seats, and an ISOFIX child seat restraint system suited for starting families. On top of its Anti-Lock Brake System, the Avanza also gets upgraded with side mirror-integrated turn signals.

Toyota is happy to announce that there will be no change in the suggested retail price for the Veloz and G variants, despite numerous additions and improvements on the model.

The top variant Veloz comes in an exclusive Dark Red Mica Metallic color. Other Avanza variants are available in six colors: Dark Blue SE, Black Metallic, Gray Metallic, Silver Mica Metallic, Beige Metallic, and White. Color availability varies per variant.

The Avanza is now available in all 70 Toyota dealerships nationwide. Prices start at P731,000 for the 1.3-liter J M/T up to P1,000,000 for the 1.5 G, and P1,065,000 for the 1.5 Veloz A/T.
